Balancing the carbs - Laverda 750, 1000 and 1200

- Get a good synchronizer. I've chosen the Carbtune II (Carbtune), very stable thanks to its stainless steel rods (which replace the mercury) and to its restricters
- Connect the hoses to the depression holes on the top of the carbs.
- Turn the tank back to front in order to access to the setting screws (see picture)
- Start and warm the engine. Put a fan in front of the head to cool it.
- Once warmed, set the idle speed to 1700/1800 rpm.
- Check the synchronizer screen and set the screws until balance is obtained, the 2 or 3 cylinders should be within 2 cmHg
- Accelerate sometimes to check if the balance is still correct.
- Stop the engine, disconnect the hoses, replace the screws to the depression holes.

- Start again the engine and set the idle speed and richness.

The air and balance screws (see arrows)
Balancing the carbs
A tricky way: Turn the tank back to front to get access to the balance screws

All 3 carbs within 2 cmHg, in spite of small variations? All is correct!
